A Summer Bucket-List

3:12 PM

So many plans, so little summer...

School is out (pretty much). I have a fairly clear summer. There's so many things I want to do, most of which should be fun, and I thought I'd throw some of those bucket-list ideas out at you so I can revisit this when fall comes around and I want to see what I've done.
my motto for the summer.
So, in no particular order...
The things I want to do this summer.

- get tickets to that Switchfoot/Relient K tour that's coming around this fall. (I'm still screaming about the fact that it's happening, and I must go.)

- get outside more. go hiking. I love hiking.

- read more poetry. try to write more poetry. just poetry in general, man.

- update and clean up this blog. it's been gathering dust for a long time.

- go back to the art museum. cry over the art museum again. spend a longer time there.

- get my full driver's license! (soon, soon.)
what is this from because i love it.
- continue to totally fall in love with stories. immerse myself in good stories. shows, movies, books, albums, anything with a story. fall in love with the shape and structure of stories.

- more biographies! more learning about cool people.

- post some writing online! short stories, anyone?

- work on my Wreck This Journal. it's been sadly neglected lately. do at least 5 pages.

- find another show I really, really love. (but is anything good after watching daredevil, is the question.)

- write the bit/chunk of Clint Barton/Hawkeye fanfic brewing in my brain. says the person who has never written fanfic and never thought she would because she's not usually a fan of it.

- read allllll the book.

- re-watch LOST. get the little bro to re-watch with me. cry about it.

- get that youtube channel set up, finally.

- learn to play the ukulele that i've also been neglecting. learn some twenty one pilots, maybe?

- have a life. sort of. do fun things i want to do.

- ice cream. so much ice cream.

What plans do you have for summer?

  1. You won't find anything more amazing than Daredevil.

As for summer plans? Not dying. I don't handle heat well. That's about it, besides reading all those classics with you.

Yesss you need to get that youtube channel up-and-running. That'll be awesome.

  2. Ahhh your summer looks so fun :P

Since summer's over for me & school is starting soon, I guess my only plan is to write that first draft that's been brewing in my head for a while and attend that Amy Zhang + Andrea Portes signing on July I've been freaking out about.

Hmm, have you tried The Strain and Under the Dome? I watched both this summer and liked them immensely.

  3. Wow, this is quite the list! I've never watched Lost, but I know so many people that love it. Right now my sister and I are watching 19-2 and we just finished watching the released episodes of The 100 on Netflix. Hope you find something good to watch!

  7. I share some of your summer plans? Namely, the hiking and reading and ukulele ones. (I got one for my fifteenth birthday and proceeded never to play it. THIS IS A CRIME.) Also I keep meaning to do various blog things then proceeding not to because PROCRASTINATION,MY FRIENDS. I couldn't get a full licence until I'm 18, but I really can't do anything because I have a learners and no driving skills whatsoever (perils of living in India, I suppose.) I would watch your youtube channel! I'm looking forward to it, actually :)

  8. Ugh, I still need to finish watching LOST for the first time. But I have such a hard time watching movies/TV during the summer or daytime. So I rarely get the time to...
Hiking is the bestest and I need to do more this year too, my boyfriend's family is pretty outdoorsy and they like taking me so I need to make myself more available for that.
Probably should try to do my summer writing project too, lol.

  9. Well, I want to do more reading, go outside more, finish some of the shows I watch, redecorate my room, break my life-ruining procrastination habits, have a more organized/less stressful social life, grow closer to God, and nicely plan my senior year. Honestly, though, my school year was a mess. I'm probably going to spend most of my time finishing up my classes, working (because I am beyond broke and I need to start saving for a car), and just trying not to drown in life so next year won't be such a trainwreck. My social life has kinda gone out the window lately. Anyway, at least the weather is nice! Much as I enjoy the cold, it's nice to actually see the sun.
    Pardon me for complaining.
I hope your summer is absolutely great! Good luck on your goals and all!

    2. I think going outside is a big one for me, but whether or not we get that done remains to be seen...sigh. I'm the worst at going outside.

  10. Write. Edit. Blog. Attend a teeny writer's conference. Visit family for the 4th of July. Finish X-Files (TRY THEM!). Read a lot. Sleep a lot. Exercise more (so basically exercise). Drive. That's about it. Sounds like your summer is going to be fantastic!

  12. Oh, there's so much I want to do this summer! Let's just hope school and work don't get in the way of what's most important: Adventures!
Haha, I tell myself every few months that I'm going to finally update my YouTube channel but it just never happens. I hope you have more motivation and inspiration for it than I do!
